Ingredients

1 (12-ounce) jar (1 1/2 cups)
prepared salsa verde
1/3 cup
chopped fresh parsley
1/3 cup
dry white wine or chicken broth
1 teaspoon
juniper berries, crushed
1/4 teaspoon
coarse ground pepper
1 teaspoon
freshly grated lemon zest

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in bowl; mix well.
  2. Use to marinate 2 pounds meat (chicken, pork or beef); reserve marinade. Cook meat as desired.
  3. Pour reserved marinade into 1-quart saucepan; cook over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a full boil. Serve with cooked meat.

Recipe Tips

Juniper berries are a bitter blue blackberry native to America. They are sold dried and used as a flavoring. Look for them in the spice section of the supermarket.
