Ingredients

1 1/4 cups
all-purpose flour
1 cup
sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons
baking powder
1/2 teaspoon
salt
1
large Land O Lakes® Egg
1 teaspoon
vanilla
1/3 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
3/4 cup
milk
1/4 cup
chopped pecans
1/2 cup
semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in ungreased 8-inch square baking pan. Set aside.
  3. Whisk egg and vanilla together in bowl.  
  4. Make 2 indentations in flour mixture; pour melted butter in one and egg mixture in other. Pour milk over flour mixture; mix well. Stir in pecans.
  5. Bake 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over warm cake. Let stand 2 minutes; slightly swirl melted chips.

Easy to make, but nothing special. Much better when the swirled chocolate chips were still warm; after they cooled off, the topping looked remarkably unappetizing.

Very quick and tasty cake! I cut back on the sugar a little and used mini chocolate chips on top. Just what I was looking for!

this certainly was an easy recipe.. mix in pan/bake in pan.. a quick one when ya need a quick dessert! The choc chip topping was easy and tasty... I liked the cake the second day better/ good with Ice Cream lemon flavor.. yummmm!
