Warm Red Cabbage Salad

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

2 cups coarsely shredded red cabbage

1 small (1/2 cup) tart cooking apple, cored, coarsely chopped

1 small (1/2 cup) onion, chopped

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Melt butter in 10-inch nonstick skillet until sizzling; stir in garlic, salt and pepper. Add cabbage, apple and onion. Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until cabbage is crisply tender. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar and parsley.

This is an easy recipe that comes together quicky. I served this with our steak dinner tonight with wheat dinner rolls. I think I will add more cabbage cut down the onion and maybe add some fresh grated ginger the next time I make it. Very good combination of flavors! Thanks!
