Apple Sausage Patties


1/3 cup chopped onion

1 pound bulk pork sausage

1 medium (1 cup) apple, peeled, finely shredded

1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage

Dash ground red pepper (cayenne)

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine all ingredients in bowl. Shape into 12 (3-inch) patties. Cover; refrigerate at least 30 minutes.

  2. STEP 2

    Heat 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. STEP 3

    Add sausage patties; reduce heat to medium. Cook 5 minutes; turn. Continue cooking 3-5 minutes or until patties are no longer pink.

Tip #1

Apple sausage patties can be shaped ahead of time. Wrap in plastic food wrap; refrigerate up to 24 hours.
