1 tablespoon Land O Lakes® Butter

1 small (1/2 cup) red onion, thinly sliced

2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh garlic

1 to 2 teaspoons finely chopped seeded jalapeño chile pepper

2 (15- to 16-ounce) cans red or pinto beans, rinsed, drained

1 (28-ounce) can Italian-style plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped

1 (12-ounce) jar (1 1/2 cups) green salsa

2 bay leaves

1/2 teaspoon coarse ground pepper

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Melt butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling. Add red onion, garlic and jalapeño; sauté 3-5 minutes or until slightly softened.

  2. STEP 2

    Place onion mixture into 3-quart saucepan. Add all remaining ingredients; stir. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 20-25 minutes or until heated through.
