Caramel Nut Cereal Bars

2 cups round multigrain cereal

2 cups rice cereal squares

3/4 cup roasted salted whole almonds

3/4 cup dry roasted peanuts

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

40 caramel candies,   unwrapped

 *Substitute 1 (11-ounce) package caramel bits.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Line 8- or 9-inch pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges. Lightly spray with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine cereals, almonds and peanuts in bowl; set aside.

  3. STEP 3

    Combine sugar and honey in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 1-2 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil. Stir in butter and caramel candies. Continue cooking until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    Pour hot mixture over cereal mixture; stir until well coated. Press mixture into prepared pan. Cool completely 1 hour or until set.

  5. STEP 5

    Remove cereal bars from pan, using foil ends. Carefully peel off foil. Cut into 25 bars.
