Double Chocolate Brownies

1 (6- to 7-ounce) package (12 to 16) caramel or mint-filled chocolate squares  

1 (10.25-ounce) package fudge brownie mix

1/3 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, melted

2 tablespoons water

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg


Powdered sugar, if desired

 *Substitute 2 (3.5-ounce) filled chocolate bars.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F. Line 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges. Spray with no-stick cooking spray; set aside. Unwrap or break apart chocolate squares; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine brownie mix, melted butter, water and egg in bowl; stir until well mixed. Spread half of brownie batter into prepared pan. Place chocolate squares over batter in single layer. Top with the remaining batter; spread to cover chocolate completely.

  3. STEP 3

    Bake 26-30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

Look for filled chocolate squares in the candy section of the supermarket.
