2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/4 cup sour cream

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt


Decorator icing or gel, if desired

Decorator sugars, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine 1 cup flour and all remaining cookie ingredients in bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in remaining flour.

  2. STEP 2

    Divide dough in half. Shape each half into a ball; flatten slightly. Wrap each half in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm.

  3. STEP 3

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  4. STEP 4

    Roll out dough on well-floured surface, one-half at a time (keeping remaining dough refrigerated), to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters.

  5. STEP 5

    Place 1 inch apart onto greased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with decorator sugars, if desired. Bake 7-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool completely. Decorate with icing or gel, if desired.
