Grilled Chicken with BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce
2 cup1 small (1
2 cup) onion, finely chopped1
2 cup ketchup1
4 cup Worcestershire sauce3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1
4 teaspoon pepperChicken
1 (3- to 4-pound) fresh cut-up chicken
How to make

STEP 1
Melt butter in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat until sizzling; add onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, 3-5 minutes or until softened.

Stir in all remaining sauce ingredients; continue cooking 5-6 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened. Cool to room temperature.

Pour into mini-food processor bowl fitted with metal blade or blender container; process until smooth.

Heat one side of gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. Place coals to one side in charcoal grill. Make aluminum foil drip pan; place opposite coals.

Place chicken onto grill over drip pan. Grill, turning occasionally, 25 minutes. Continue grilling, brushing with sauce and turning occasionally, 20-30 minutes or until internal temperature of chicken reaches at least 165°F and juices run clear when pierced with fork.
Mango BBQ Sauce
Add 1 tablespoon chopped jalapeño pepper with onions. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped mango, 1 tablespoon honey and 2 teaspoons lemon juice with remaining ingredients.
Chipotle BBQ Sauce
Stir in 2 tablespoons chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce with remaining ingredients.
Soy Ginger BBQ Sauce
Reduce Worcestershire sauce to 1 tablespoon. Omit salt. Stir in 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 teaspoon freshly grated gingerroot with remaining ingredients.
Balsamic BBQ Sauce
Reduce Worcestershire sauce to 2 tablespoons. Omit white vinegar. Stir in 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar and 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard with remaining ingredients.
