Peanut Butter Honey Bees

2 cups creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Margarine, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

3 cups graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon shortening

Sliced almonds

Chow mein noodles

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine peanut butter and margarine in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add powdered sugar; beat at low speed until well mixed. Stir in graham cracker crumbs.

  2. STEP 2

    Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1 1/2-inch ovals. Place onto waxed paper-lined cookie sheets.

  3. STEP 3

    Combine chocolate chips and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 30 seconds; stir. Continue microwaving, stirring every 10 seconds, until mixture is melted and smooth. Cool slightly.

  4. STEP 4

    Place chocolate in small plastic resealable food bag. Cut very small tip from one corner of bag.

  5. STEP 5

    For each honey bee, pipe 3 chocolate stripes on each oval; insert 2 almond slices in each side for wings. Insert 2 chow mein noodles in head for antenna; insert 1 short chow mein noodle for tail. Dot with chocolate for eyes, if desired.

  6. STEP 6

    Refrigerate at least 30 minutes until firm. Store refrigerated.

Tip #1

- Substitute disposable pastry bag for plastic resealable food bag.

Tip #2

- If dough is too soft, stir in additional powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
