Toasted Pecan Blonde Brownies

3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Unsalted Butter  

2/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt


1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 to 5 teaspoons milk

2 tablespoons chopped pecans, toasted, if desired

 *Substitute Land O Lakes® Salted Butter.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch square or 11x7-inch baking pan; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, brown sugar, and egg until well mixed. Stir in all remaining brownie ingredients; mix well.

  3. STEP 3

    Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for desired glazing consistency in bowl. Drizzle over brownies. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons chopped pecans, if desired. Cut into bars.

Tip #1

- To toast pecans, spread onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F, 5-8 minutes, stirring once, or until lightly browned.

Tip #2

- To drizzle glaze over brownies, place glaze in small resealable plastic food bag. Snip off tiny corner of bag. Squeeze bag over brownies to drizzle glaze.
