Caramelized Onion Pizzette

Ingredients

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Unsalted Butter

2 cups thinly sliced red onions

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 1/2 teaspoons coarse ground pepper

1/2 cup pecan pieces

1 (11- to 12-inch) (10 ounces) ready-to-bake thin pizza crust

2 ounces (1/2 cup) blue cheese crumbles

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add red onions; cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until onions are softened and begin to brown. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook 20 minutes or until onions are caramelized. Stir in brown sugar, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, until mixture is gooey. Stir in pecans.

  3. STEP 3

    Spread mixture evenly over pizza crust all the way to edge. Sprinkle evenly with blue cheese. Bake 13-15 minutes or until cheese is set. Cut into squares; serve warm or at room temperature.

Tip #1

Ready-to-bake pizza crusts come in many styles and thicknesses. If you choose a thinner or thicker crust than we've used, you may have to adjust your bake time.
