Air Fryer Pizza Calzones

Get started!

Ingredients

1 (16-ounce) ball refrigerated pizza dough

1/2 cup cooked crumbled Italian sausage, cooled

6 ounces (1 1/2 cups) Land O Lakes® Mozzarella Farmstyle Cut Shredded Cheese

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt, melted

Dried oregano, as desired

Marinara sauce, heated, for dipping

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat air fryer to 375°F.

  2. STEP 2

Divide dough evenly into 8 balls; stretch each into 5-inch round. Top half of each round with 1 tablespoon sausage and 3/4 ounce (scant 1/4 cup) cheese leaving about 1/2-inch border. Fold untopped side over toppings, lining up edges of dough. Press or crimp edges. Repeat with remaining dough.

  3. STEP 3

Brush tops lightly with some of melted Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt. Place as many calzones as fit in single layer into parchment-lined air fryer basket. Cook 5 minutes; turn calzones over. Cook 4-6 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately brush tops lightly with remaining melted butter; sprinkle lightly with dried oregano. Repeat with remaining calzones.

  4. STEP 4

Serve warm with marinara dipping sauce.

Tip #1

Air fryer sizes vary, so you may need to cook just a few at a time. Keep warm in a 200°F oven while waiting for all the calzones to finish cooking.

Tip #2

Frozen dinner rolls work perfectly too—just use two thawed rolls per calzone and proceed with the recipe as directed.

Tip #3

Air fryer temperature settings vary according to brand and model. If your air fryer doesn't have the temperature setting called for in the recipe, consult the manual for recommendations.
