Ingredients

Chile Butter

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

3 tablespoons Calabrian chiles in oil, finely chopped

1 tablespoon finely grated lemon zest

2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh garlic

Pasta

1 pound uncooked dried medium shell pasta

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 cup Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine butter, chopped chiles, lemon zest and garlic in bowl. Using hand mixer, blend until fully combined. Reserve 1/4 cup for pasta; refrigerate remaining compound butter for another use.

  2. STEP 2

    Meanwhile, cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.

  3. STEP 3

    Melt reserved 1/4 cup chile butter in saucepan used to cook pasta over medium heat. Stir in tomato paste; cook 1 minute. Add whipping cream; stir to combine. Add cooked pasta and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, stirring vigorously to blend cheese and cream. Add reserved pasta water, if needed, to loosen sauce to desired consistency. Garnish with fresh basil. Serve with remaining Parmesan cheese.
