Ingredients

3 3/4 cups (390 grams) all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons kosher salt

3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, cut into small pieces

1 cup canned pumpkin

1/2 cup buttermilk, plus additional for brushing

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 425°F. Line half sheet pan with parchment; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Whisk together flour, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, sugar and salt. Add butter; cut in butter with pastry blender or your hands until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add pumpkin and buttermilk; stir until fully combined. Scoop generous 1/4 cupfuls onto prepared sheet pan. Brush tops with additional buttermilk.

  3. STEP 3

    Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown and firm to touch. Serve warm with Honey Butter Spread or another LAND O LAKES® sweet seasonal tub butter.

Tip #1

Use a box grater to grate the cold butter into small pieces—no need for a pastry blender!
