Ingredients

Crust

1 3/4 cups
all-purpose flour
3/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1/3 cup
sugar

Filling

1 1/2 cups
dark corn syrup
2/3 cup
firmly packed brown sugar

large Land O Lakes® Eggs
6 tablespoons
all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons
vanilla
1 teaspoon
salt
1 1/2 cups
coarsely chopped macadamia nuts, toasted

Chocolate

1/4 cup
dark chocolate chips
1 teaspoon
shortening

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine 1 3/4 cups flour, butter and sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press crust mixture evenly onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 18-22 minutes or until edges are very light golden brown.
  4. Combine all filling ingredientsexceptmacadamia nuts in bowl; mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly over hot, partially baked crust. Bake 30-35 minutes or until filling is set and knife inserted 1-inch from edge comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bars; let stand 1 hour or until chocolate is set. Cut into bars. Store refrigerated.

I made this for Christmas and everyone loved it. One of the gals does weight watchers and she told people, "it is worth the calories"....instead of drizzling the top with the melted dark chocolate, I "frosted" the bars and added christmas sprinkles to make them festive looking. I will make these again.
