1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter softened
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
8 slices white sandwich bread
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
Combine butter and Parmesan cheese in bowl.
Spread 1 side of each bread slice with 2 teaspoons butter mixture.
Top 1 bread slice, buttered-side down, with 2 cheese slices. Place 1 bread slice, buttered-side up, over cheese.
Heat 12-inch skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place 2 sandwiches into skillet; cook, turning once, 4-6 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining sandwiches.

What a great idea! I made grilled cheese sandwiches with a five cheese blend-Parmesan, Fontina, Gruyere, Sharp, and Colby. I put these in equal amounts in my food processor and used the spread for the cheese inside the sandwich. (Fontina is the secret in that blend.) Then I used this recipe for the outside of the bread. Oh my word! This was grilled cheese lover's sandwich extraordinaire! Add a cup of homemade chicken noodle soup -- it's a keeper for warming the soul on a cold, wet day!
