3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash ground nutmeg
2 cups Land O Lakes® Half & Half
Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper and nutmeg until smooth. Slowly stir in half & half; continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 8-10 minutes or until mixture is thickened.
Variation: Creamy Cheese Sauce: Omit nutmeg. Add 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese to sauce as mixture begins to thicken. Stir until melted and smooth.
