Ingredients

1 cup
chopped walnuts
1 (8 ounce) package (1 1/2 cups)
chopped dates
1/4 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
2 tablespoons
all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons
sugar
1 teaspoon
ground cardamom
1 (17.3-Ounce) package
frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream, whipped, or ice cream, if desired

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F.
  2. Place walnuts and dates in food processor bowl fitted with metal blade. Cover; process 1 minute or until finely chopped. Add butter, flour, sugar and cardamom; process 30-60 seconds or until well mixed.
  3. Roll out each sheet of puff pastry on lightly floured surface into 10 1/2-inch square. Cut each into nine (3 1/2-inch) squares. Divide date mixture evenly among squares. 5. Top with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

I tried this recipe and everyone loved it. I decided to stray from the recipe a bit and substituted a couple of ingredients. First, I used apricots, perlette raisins and mangoes that I had dried from my garden. Second, I used pecans instead of walnuts. Delicious! Thanks for a fast and tasty recipe.
