Ingredients

Focaccia

1 cup water

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

2 2/3 cups bread flour

1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Topping

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, melted

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Read instruction manual for bread machine. Prepare bread using dough cycle according to manual directions. (Add additional bread flour during mixing, if necessary.)

  2. STEP 2

Remove dough from bread machine. Knead dough on lightly floured surface 30 seconds. Cover with plastic food wrap; let rest 10 minutes. Place dough onto large greased baking sheet. Press into 12-inch circle. Cover; let rise 30 minutes or until double in size.

  3. STEP 3

    Heat oven to 375°F.

  4. STEP 4

Make 1/2-inch deep indentations, 1 to 2 inches apart, into dough with floured fingers or handle of wooden spoon. Brush top with 2 tablespoons butter; sprinkle with garlic. Top with parsley and cheese. Bake 25-30 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Serve warm.

Tip #1

Try using this dough as a pizza crust. Pat dough into 15x10-inch rectangle onto large greased baking sheet. Top with your favorite pizza toppings. Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

Tip #2

Conventional Directions: Heat water until warm (105-115°F). Pour water into large bowl; add 1 (1/4-ounce) package active dry yeast. Stir to dissolve. Stir in 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 cups bread flour, 2 tablespoons softened butter and salt until soft dough forms. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead dough, adding additional bread flour, one tablespoon at a time, if necessary, 5-10 minutes or until dough becomes smooth and elastic. Place dough into greased bowl; turn greased-side up. Cover; let rise in warm place 45-60 minutes or until double in size.
