Add egg; continue beating until well mixed. Add all remaining cookie ingredients except additional sugar; beat at low speed until well mixed.

Place onto ungreased cookie sheets; flatten each ball to 3-inch diameter with bottom of drinking glass or measuring cup dipped in sugar. Bake 9-11 minutes or until edges just begin to turn golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.

A winner! I needed large, seasonal cookies to sell at a symphony event. I decorated with a variety of candies, and each had colored sugar, too. Doubling the recipe, I made 25 but the thickness and size were great.

I added one teaspoon vanilla paste to the frosting-just because I love the taste of vanilla in frosting-and it was so good! I made these cookies for my class at school and they keep asking me to make them for them each week. Stated they were the best cookies they ever had!
