Ingredients

Crust

1 3/4 cups
all-purpose flour
1/2 cup
sugar
2/3 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1/3 cup
chopped pecans

Filling

1 1/4 cup
firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 cup
chopped pecans
2/3 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
3
large Land O Lakes® Eggs
3 tablespoons
honey

Decoration

Powdered sugar, if desired

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine flour, sugar and 2/3 cup butter in bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in 1/3 cup pecans. Press onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  3. Combine all filling ingredients in same bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Pour over hot, partially baked crust. Continue baking 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely; cut into bars.
  4. Place stencil onto individual bars; sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

I have made this recipe for years and am always asked for the recipe. It's excellent. Never fails.

Ihad a catering service and used these many, many times because they were so well received. I won a Blue Ribbon at the State Fair for the best bar cookies. That was 25 years ago. I still receive raves whenever I serve my "Blue Ribbon Bar Cookies".
