These lightly spiced cookies have the sweet flavors of honey and orange.
2/3 cup Land O Lakes® Butter softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
Heat oven to 350°F.
Combine butter, brown sugar and sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add honey and egg; continue beating until well mixed, scraping bowl if necessary. Add all remaining cookie ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed.
Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges start to brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.
Combine powdered sugar and enough orange juice for desired spreading consistency in bowl; mix until smooth. Spread frosting over cooled cookies.
Honey keeps these cookies soft and chewy, making them ideal for the cookie jar.

I made this recipe years ago and my granddaughter loves them. I don't frost them. Sent some home with a friend's nephew and before he left the driveway he was eating one. He called out, "send the recipe." I am doing that now! The honey keeps the cookies moist. Freezes well.
