Pineapple Salsa

1/2 cup chopped pineapple

2 tablespoons chopped red onion

1 tablespoon seeded chopped jalapeño

1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Burgers

1 pound lean ground beef

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/4 cup teriyaki glaze

8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Sharp Cheddar American Blend, cut in half diagonally

8 small romaine lettuce leaves

8 slider buns

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Combine all pineapple salsa ingredients in bowl; mix well. Cover; refrigerate until serving time.

Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  3. STEP 3

Shape ground beef into 8 patties; season with pepper. Place patties onto grill. Grill, turning occasionally and basting with teriyaki glaze after first turn, 8-10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 160°F and meat is no longer pink in center.

  4. STEP 4

Top each burger with 2 pieces cheese; let melt slightly.

  5. STEP 5

Place buns cut-side down onto grill. Grill 1-2 minutes or until toasted.

  6. STEP 6

Place lettuce leaf onto bottom half of each bun. Top each with 1 burger, 1 tablespoon pineapple salsa and top half of bun.
