Ingredients

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1 pound lean ground beef

1/2 cup finely chopped water chestnuts

3 tablespoons finely chopped green onions

1/3 cup dry bread crumbs

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 cup mild kimchi, coarsely chopped

8 slider or dollar-sized buns, split, toasted

1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  2. STEP 2

Whisk soy sauce, hoisin sauce and ground ginger together in bowl. Add ground beef, water chestnuts, green onions and bread crumbs; mix well.

  3. STEP 3

Melt butter in 10-inch skillet over medium heat until sizzling. Add kimchi; sauté, stirring and turning kimchi occasionally, 8-10 minutes or until cooked through and slightly browned.

  4. STEP 4

Shape ground beef into 8 patties. Place patties onto grill; grill, turning once, 8-10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F and meat is no longer pink in center.

  5. STEP 5

Spoon 2 tablespoons kimchi onto bottom half of each bun. Top with burger, 2 teaspoons chopped cilantro and top half of bun.

Tip #1

Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish that consists of fermented cabbage and chiles. It can be found in Korean markets as well as in the refrigerated produce or deli section of most grocery stores.
