3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon freshly grated orange zest
2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 9x5-inch loaf pan. Set aside.
Combine sugar and butter in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add sour cream, orange juice, orange zest and eggs; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda; beat at low speed until well mixed. Gently stir in dates and pecans.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 45-55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely.
For easier slicing, wrap bread tightly in foil or plastic food wrap and store overnight.

Just made this and baked in two 8 x 4 aluminum pans for 35-40 minutes and they are excellent. Just like my Mother used to make. Am going to make a bunch of these for Christmas/Hostess gifts. Thanks for the great recipe.
Just used smaller pan and got two loaves out of recipe.
Delicious! Moist, rich, flavorful. The modification I made was that I did not add sugar. I used only the one cup dates. It was sweet enough.
