Herb Butter
1/3 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh oregano leaves
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
Popovers
3 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
1 1/4 cups milk
1 tablespoon Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup oat bran
1/4 teaspoon salt
*Substitute 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed.
STEP 1
Heat oven to 450°F. Grease popover pans; set aside.
STEP 2
Stir together 1/3 cup butter, oregano and parsley in small bowl. Cover; refrigerate until serving time.
STEP 3
Beat eggs in small bowl at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until thick and lemon-colored. Add milk and 1 tablespoon melted butter; continue beating 1 minute. Add flour, oat bran and salt; continue beating until well mixed. Pour batter into prepared popover pan or 6-ounce custard cups. Bake 15 minutes.
STEP 4
Reduce oven temperature to 350°F. Do Not Open Oven Door. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
STEP 5
Insert knife into popovers to allow steam to escape. Serve immediately with Herb Butter.
Eggs and milk should be at room temperature to help ensure successful popovers.
