Penuche Frosting

Penuche is a rich creamy frosting made from brown sugar, butter, milk or cream and vanilla.

Ingredients

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/3 cup Land O Lakes® Half & Half

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

1/8 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Place brown sugar, half & half, butter and salt in 2-quart saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil. Cool 15-20 minutes.

  2. STEP 2

    Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth.

It's just about like my mom's and grandmas,but my Mom snuck in some maple flavoring to make it have more of an aroma,but where i live... If you say penuche cake everyone runs away! My mom just told me to tell them it was caramel cake
