Ingredients

Onion

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

2 large (2 cups) onions, sliced

2 teaspoons sugar

Steak

2 (about 8-ounce) rib-eye steaks

Salt

Pepper

Egg

1 teaspoon Land O Lakes® Butter

2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  2. STEP 2

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat until sizzling; add onions and sugar. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 12-15 minutes or until onions are golden and caramelized. Remove from heat; keep warm.

  3. STEP 3

Season steaks with salt and pepper, as desired. Place onto grill; grill, turning once, 13-15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F (medium-rare) or desired doneness. Keep warm.

  4. STEP 4

Melt 1 teaspoon butter in same 10-inch skillet over medium heat; break eggs into pan. Cook about 1 minute or until eggs are set on bottom. Cover pan; continue cooking about 2 minutes or until whites are set and yolk is cooked.

  5. STEP 5

Top each steak with onions and 1 fried egg. Serve immediately.

Tip #1

Let steaks stand at room temperature about 30 minutes before cooking.

Tip #2

To broil steaks, heat broiler on high. Spray broiler pan with cooking spray. Broil steaks, turning once, 13-15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F (medium-rare) or desired doneness.

Tip #3

Sprinkle steaks with blue cheese crumbles, if desired.

Tip #4

FDA guidelines for safe handling instructions recommend cooking eggs until white and yolk are firm.
