4 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
2 cups sliced onions
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Swiss Cheese
8 slices marbled rye or hearty grain bread
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add onions and garlic salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5-7 minutes or until onions are browned. Stir in lemon juice and nutmeg.
Layer 1 slice bread with 1 slice cheese, about 3 tablespoons onions, 1 slice cheese and 1 slice bread. Spread remaining butter on both sides of sandwiches.
Cook in same skillet over medium heat, turning once, 4-6 minutes or until golden brown.

The onions cooked down very sweet and yummy! I used a couple more slices of cheeses it was a little messy but very tasty. I served the sandwiches with tomato soup for a simple dinner.
