TOTAL TIME

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 cup Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream

1 1/2 cups Land O Lakes® Half & Half

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Combine sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Stir in whipping cream, half & half and vanilla. Cover; refrigerate 1-2 hours or overnight.

  2. STEP 2

Pour into 1-quart ice cream freezer. Freeze 20-30 minutes or according to manufacturer's directions.

Tip #1

- A fanciful New England cookie, the snickerdoodle is delicately flavored with a sugar-cinnamon top. Similar versions contain the same spices, but may also have nuts or raisins. We patterned this recipe after the purist's version, without the raisins or nuts.

Tip #2

- Double the ingredients in the recipe if using a 2-quart ice cream freezer.

I am a huge snickerdoodle fan so i had to try this recipe. I am from the south so I was interested in trying an ice cream recipe that did not require eggs. The snickerdoodle taste was there but very "weak". Also the ice cream its self was not thick and creamy as I am used to but very watered down. I will try it again adding egg to give the ice cream some texture and volume next time.
