If making hanging cookie ornaments, while cookies are still warm, use toothpick to make hole for ribbon. Cool completely.

Gluten Free Trim the Tree Butter Cookies!!! I substituted a Gluten Free Flour for All Purpose Flour - increasing the amount by just a bit; the cookies were wonderful and no one could tell that they were Gluten Free!

These have been my family's favorite for years... other cookies get requested now and then but these gems ALWAYS have to be apart of the celebrations. We use the same recipe at Easter and create a lovely tree (a white bare branch in a nice ceramic pot) of bunnies and colorful "eggs". Beware though... they disappear faster than Santa or the Easter Bunny!
