This simple-to-make toasted nut mixture has a hint of cardamom for a special flavor.

Ingredients

1/3 cup
Land O Lakes® Butter
1/3 cup
light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon
cardamom
2 cups
pecan halves
3/4 cup
blanched whole almonds
1/2 cup
whole hazelnuts or filberts

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. 
  2. Melt butter in 15x10x1-inch baking pan in oven. Stir in all remaining ingredients.
  3. Bake 15-18 minutes or until almonds are golden brown. Stir mixture immediately after removing from oven.

I have made this recipe for years -- I LOVE it, try to give as a gift but it never makes it that far - I just eat them myself.... I found it on the inside of a lb of Land 'o Lakes YEARS ago and kept it ever since. And since I love cardamom, a add a bit more. Either way, these are great.

i like nuts a lot, but this particular recipe is just passable, in my opinion. i think i would like to use another sweetner source than corn syrup.

I found this in an old holiday magazine type book from LOL years ago. It has been my go-to Christmas Eve project ever since.
