1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, frozen
1 pound 85/15 ground beef
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
4 burger buns, buttered, toasted
Lettuce leaves, as desired

Sliced tomato, as desired
Pickle slices, as desired
Using largest side of grater, shred butter onto sheet of waxed or parchment paper. Freeze at least 5 minutes.
Tip: Grating Butter
Gently mix beef and shredded butter until well incorporated. Form into 4 (5-inch) patties. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until cooking time.
Tip: Making Patties
To grill burgers, heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. Place patties onto grill over direct heat; grill 5 minutes. Turn patties; continue grilling 3-5 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F or desired doneness. When there is about 1 minute left of cooking time, add cheese to patties. Continue grilling until cheese is melted.
OR To cook in skillet, heat skillet over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium; cook patties 4 minutes. Turn patties; continue cooking 3-5 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F or desired doneness. Turn off heat. Place cheese on each patty; cover pan with lid 1 minute or until cheese is melted.
Place burgers onto toasted buns; top as desired.
These beautiful burgers are loaded with flavors like pesto or chipotle, and topped with melting cheese and veggie-based condiments such as guacamole, roasted red peppers or pico de gallo. Grill on!
