Chocolate Meltaway Cookies

1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

2/3 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa

2/3 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons red and/or green decorator sugar, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add flour, cornstarch and cocoa; beat at low speed until well mixed. Cover; refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

  2. STEP 2

    Heat oven to 350°F.

    Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-13 minutes or until edges are set. Let stand 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine powdered sugar and decorator sugars, if desired, in bowl. Roll warm cookies in sugar mixture and again when cooled.

Tip #1

Roll cookies in mixture of powdered sugar and cocoa instead of powdered sugar and decorator sugars.
