Frosted Maple Spice Drops

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt


3 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 1/4 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring

36 pecan halves

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg, milk and 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring; continue beating until well mixed. Add all remaining cookie ingredients. Beat at low speed until well mixed.

  3. STEP 3

    Drop dough by level teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Transfer to wire rack. Cool completely.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine cream cheese and 2 tablespoons butter in small bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add all remaining frosting ingredients except pecans. Beat at low speed until smooth and creamy. Spread 1 teaspoon frosting on each cookie; top with pecan half.

Tip #1

To soften cream cheese, let it stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Or, unwrap and place in microwave-safe bowl and microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100% power) for 15 to 20 seconds.
