Hidden Treasure Chocolate Soufflés

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg, separated

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons sugar

2 chocolate-covered caramels, unwrapped

Powdered sugar

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 400°F. Spray two (6-ounce) ramekins or custard cups with no-stick cooking spray; coat lightly with sugar.

  2. STEP 2

    Place chocolate chips, butter and cocoa in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 45 seconds; stir. Continue microwaving at additional 10-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla.

  3. STEP 3

    Beat egg white in small bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in 2 tablespoons sugar until stiff peaks form. Stir 1/4 of egg white mixture into chocolate mixture to lighten. Gently stir in remaining egg white mixture. Spoon mixture into prepared ramekins, filling about 3/4 full. Drop 1 chocolate-covered caramel into center of each soufflé; press in slightly.

  4. STEP 4

    Place soufflés on baking sheet. Bake 18-20 minutes or until puffed and center still moves slightly. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve immediately.
