QWe turned the tables this month and asked our readers on Facebook what they are most looking forward to making with apples this fall. And what you had to say made our mouths water.

- The Land O'Lakes Test Kitchen

Our readers are making everything from applesauce to Apple Brown Betty, apple dumplings and huckleberry apple pie. I think these all sound delicious!

I also love to use apples throughout the fall, and I love the slightly unexpected combination of tart apples and rich, sweet maple syrup, like in this Maple-Glazed Apple Streusel Pie.

This time of year, I could eat apples at every meal: Cinnamon Apple Coffee Cake for breakfast, Cinnamon Apple Grilled Cheese for lunch and Maple Apple Pork Chops for dinner.

But nothing beats good, old-fashioned homemade applesauce. You can sweeten it and flavor it as much — or as a little — as you choose. And, it’s easy to make in just 30 minutes on the stove.

Don’t forget to choose the right apple for your recipe, with our handy chart.

Happy fall!
