Ingredients
Pretzel Bites
12 unbaked frozen dinner rolls
6 cups water
2 tablespoons baking soda
1 teaspoon sugar
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg, beaten
Coarse sea salt
Cheese Sauce
2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh garlic
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
10 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American, chopped
How to make
-
STEP 1
Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Place dinner rolls onto sheet; cover lightly with plastic food wrap. Let rise at room temperature 1 1/2-2 hours or until completely thawed and rolls feel soft.
-
STEP 2
Cut each roll into quarters.
-
STEP 3
Heat oven to 425°F. Line another baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
-
STEP 4
Place water into large saucepan; bring to a boil over high heat. Carefully add baking soda and sugar. (Water will bubble up, then return to a gentle boil.) Drop half of dough pieces into gently boiling water; cook, stirring lightly, about 1 minute or until surface of dough has lightly bubbled appearance. Remove with slotted spoon; place onto prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough pieces.
-
STEP 5
Brush each dough bite with beaten egg; sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
-
STEP 6
Meanwhile, melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat until sizzling. Add garlic; continue cooking 1 minute or until fragrant. Add flour; stir to combine. Continue cooking 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk until well combined. Add Deli American, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted and sauce is slightly thickened. Serve with warm pretzel bites.
