Hot Honey Compound Butter

1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, room temperature

1/2 cup hot honey

2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

2 teaspoons ground red pepper (cayenne)

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

*Substitute 1/2 cup honey, 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce and 1 teaspoon cayenne.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Place butter into bowl. Add all remaining ingredients; stir to combine.

  2. STEP 2

Divide compound butter in half; place butter halves onto sheets of parchment or waxed paper. Fold up sides of paper; use hands to form into log shape approximately 6x1 1/2 inches. Twist ends of paper to seal.

  3. STEP 3

Refrigerate at least 2 hours or until firm enough to slice. Store in refrigerator 1 week or up to 3 months in freezer.

Tip #1

Butter may also be placed in small bowl, then chilled, instead of forming into logs.

Tip #2

Use this butter to flavor grilled chicken, seafood or a grilled cheese sandwich. It also shines when generously spread on a warm biscuit or drizzled over freshly popped popcorn.
