Peanut Butter Bars
 

These Peanut Butter Bars have a large following and come to us from Member-owner Pam Wagner of Wagner Farms Inc. This recipe, rarely written out, is a popular request during holidays, special gatherings and events in the community. Wagner Farms is a fifth-generation family dairy farm with a focus on people, animals and the environment. Ingredients

Base

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, melted

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup uncooked old-fashioned oats

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Peanut Butter Glaze

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

1/3 cup milk

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, 1/3 cup peanut butter and egg in large bowl. Stir until well combined. Add flour, oats, baking soda and salt; stir until well combined. Press into prepared pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and set.

  3. STEP 3

    Remove pan from oven. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips onto cookie base. Return to oven. Turn oven off. Heat pan in oven 1 minute to melt chips.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine glaze ingredients in small bowl until creamy and spreading consistency. Drizzle over melted chocolate chips; spread to coat, swirling glaze and chocolate chips together.
