1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries, chopped
1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1 tablespoon freshly grated orange zest
Heat oven to 350°F.
Combine all orange sugar ingredients in bowl; stir until well mixed. Set aside.
Combine 1 cup sugar, butter and egg in bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda; beat at low speed until well mixed. Add all remaining ingredients. Continue beating just until mixed.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll balls in orange sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with bottom of glass to 1 1/2-inch circles.
Bake 7-11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Do not over bake. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack.
- To prevent cranberries from sticking to knife when chopping; spray knife with no-stick cooking spray.
- To prevent hands from getting too sugary, shape dough into enough balls to fill one cookie sheet, then roll balls in orange sugar.

Very delicious!! I made these for thanksgiving and they were a huge hit. The texture of the cookies and layers of flavor is perfect. Thank you Land O Lakes!
These cookies were crisp on the edges and tender in the center. A wonderful holiday treat! The smell of the orange zest baking left pleasant scent throughout the house. MMMMmm...
I added a teaspoon of vanilla bean paste and a pinch of salt to the recipe.
These cookies are always delicious and very easy to make. They taste like the Holidays.
I dip them halfway in chocolate because I love all of the flavors together.
These are scrumptious. The orange sugar is a lovely finishing touch to them. I used walnuts b/c that is what I had and they are so good. At 10 minutes they are chewy. Another 5 star recipe from LOL!
These are fabulous! And, as others have commented, the recipe is easily adapted for variations.
