Creamy Parmesan Pasta

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups uncooked dried gemelli pasta

6 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

3 cups broccoli florets

1 cup Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream

1 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese

6 ounces cooked chicken strips

1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

 

Shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Cook pasta in 4-quart saucepan according to package directions. Drain; return to saucepan. Keep warm.

  2. STEP 2

    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in 10-inch skillet over medium heat until sizzling; add broccoli. Cook, stirring occasionally, 4-5 minutes or until crisply tender.

  3. STEP 3

    Place whipping cream and remaining butter in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted. Stir in Parmesan cheese 5-6 minutes or until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

  4. STEP 4

    Pour Parmesan sauce over pasta; add broccoli, chicken, bacon and garlic salt. Gently stir until well mixed.

  5. STEP 5

    Spoon into serving dish. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.

I made this last night using linguine instead of gemelli and fresh portabella mushrooms instead of broccoli. I also used garlic powder rather than salt and even my salt loving sister didn't feel it needed to be salted. Next time I'm going to add some fresh split grape tomatoes at the end and take it over the top! 5+ stars!

What is a "serving" equal to for the creamy parmesan pasta? Per the recipe looks like 1/2 cup loosely packed.

Amazing! I use frozen brocolli and pre-cooked bacon... the whole meal takes about 10 minutes to make and everyone loves it... even my picky little ones!
