Burgers, topped with an onion mixture and Land O Lakes® American, create a tangy cheeseburger.
1 large (2 cups) red onion, halved, sliced
2 medium (2 cups) white or yellow onion, halved, sliced
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 pound lean ground beef
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 onion buns
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
Combine all topping ingredients in 12-inch nonstick skillet. Cook over medium heat 10-15 minutes or until onions are softened. Remove from heat. Keep warm.
Combine ground beef, salt and pepper in bowl. Shape into 4 patties. Place patties onto grill. Grill, turning once, 15-18 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F and meat is no longer pink in center.
Place burgers onto bottom half of buns. Top each with 2 slices cheese; let melt slightly. Divide onion mixture evenly among burgers; place top half of bun over burger.

The only exception is that I ground my own chuck so I can cook the burger to my preference of doneness, (medium rare) without worry. Oh, and of course I grill the buns
