Glazed Orange Drop Cookies

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup orange juice

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda


1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2 to 3 tablespoons orange juice

14 orange-flavored fruit slices, cut into thirds, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 350°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine brown sugar and butter in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add sour cream, 1/4 cup orange juice, egg, orange zest and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda; beat at low speed until well mixed.

  3. STEP 3

    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake 11-12 minutes or until set. Cool completely.

  4. STEP 4

    Stir together powdered sugar and enough orange juice in bowl for desired glazing consistency. Glaze each cooled cookie; top with fruit slice, if desired.

i made these and added extra flour. without it the cookies were flat. the flour was just what they needed to raise up real nice. and added orange zest to the glaze.

Easy and so tasty. I added orange zest to the frosting as well for a more orange flavor. These will now to part of my Christmas cookie gifts.
