Ingredients

1 1/2 cups
basmati rice
2 tablespoons
Land O Lakes® Butter
1/2 teaspoon
finely chopped fresh garlic
2 1/2 cups
water
1 tablespoon
chopped fresh chives
1 1/2 teaspoons
salt

Directions

  1. Rinse rice; set aside.
  2. Melt butter over medium-high heat in 5-quart saucepan until sizzling. Add garlic; sauté 30 seconds or until fragrant. Add rice; cook, stirring constantly, 5-6 minutes or until lightly toasted. Add water, chives and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, over high heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Cover; reduce heat to medium-low. Cook 15-18 minutes or until water is absorbed. Remove pan from heat; let stand, covered, 10 minutes. Fluff rice with fork; serve.

Rating

It's even better if you use broth in place of water. I used plain white rice in the recipe with chicken broth. Just added a little salt on the end of the time as it just needed a punch.
