Maple Walnut Creams

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 teaspoon maple extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped walnuts


2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons sour cream

1 tablespoon maple extract

1 to 2 tablespoons milk

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 375°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine brown sugar, butter, 1/2 cup sour cream, egg, and 1 teaspoon maple extract in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add all remaining cookie ingredients except walnuts; beat at low speed until well mixed. Stir in walnuts.

  3. STEP 3

    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-13 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.

  4. STEP 4

    Combine all frosting ingredients except milk in bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often and gradually adding enough milk for desired spreading consistency. Frost cooled cookies.

These cookies turned out great and everyone who tasted them loved them. I also baked them about 6 min. They were soft and lots of maple flavor.

Amazing maple flavor! The cookies only needed to bake for about 8 minutes. They turned out airy and cake-like. I did not need to add any milk to the icing because it was already fairly thin. These cookies are very tasty - soft and sweet!
