4 cups bite-sized square oat, corn or rice cereal

4 cups bite-sized square crispy wheat cereal

1 cup salted small pretzel twists

1 cup salted mixed nuts

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

6 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

3 tablespoons light corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray. Combine cereals, pretzels and nuts in prepared pan. Set aside.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in 2-quart heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 4-6 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour over cereal mixture in prepared pan; toss to coat.

  3. STEP 3

    Bake 10-15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, or until coating is set. Remove from oven. Stir.

  4. STEP 4

    Spoon cereal mixture onto aluminum foil or large ungreased baking sheet. Cool 10 minutes. Break into pieces. Store in container with tight-fitting lid.

Tip #1

This mix can be made ahead and stored in container with tight-fitting lid for up to 1 week.

I made this for my grandson who's going to be on a bus for quite a few hours- I thought he could share. I just called him and he said it was delicious, could I make more before they leave. I thought I'd pause for a second before I make the second batch and report that college students love it- easy, too.
