Pumpkin Apple Pie

1/4 cup sugar

3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 cup canned pumpkin

1/4 cup light corn syrup

1 (5-ounce) can evaporated milk

1 (21-ounce) can apple pie filling

1 (9-inch) unbaked deep-dish pie crust

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 425°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt in medium bowl. Whisk in egg. Add pumpkin, corn syrup, and evaporated milk; mix well.

  3. STEP 3

    Spread apple pie filling into pie crust. Gently pour pumpkin mixture over apples. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350ºF.  Bake 35-40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

  4. STEP 4

    Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

I have been making this pie for thanksgiving since I first cut it out of a magazine many years ago. It has solved the old problem of not being able to decide which pie slice each guest wanted. It is a hit every year and is expected by all my guests. Always comes out right.

love making this pie. its been 3 yrs since i first made it and is in high demand by few ppl. only i had to cut the amount of apple pie filling cuz if not the pumpkin overflows
