Learn How it Works...
Crust
1/4 cup cold Land O Lakes® Butter, cut into pieces
3 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 to 3 tablespoons cold water
Filling
1 pound lean ground beef
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
7 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
Toppings
1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
1 medium (1/2 cup) tomato, seeded, chopped
Sour cream, if desired
STEP 1
Heat oven to 400°F.
STEP 2
Combine all crust ingredients except water in food processor bowl fitted with metal blade. Pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. With processor running, add enough water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms a ball.
STEP 3
Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 12-inch circle. Place into ungreased 9-inch pie plate, pressing against bottom and sides. Trim crust to 1/2 inch from edge; crimp, if desired. Prick bottom of crust with fork. Bake 10-15 minutes or until crust is light golden brown and set.
STEP 4
Cook ground beef in 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat 5-7 minutes or until browned; drain. Add all remaining filling ingredients except cheese; mix well.
STEP 5
Place 3 slices cheese onto bottom of baked crust. Top with meat mixture and remaining 4 slices cheese. Bake 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Top with lettuce and tomato. Serve with sour cream, if desired.
If you are short on time, use refrigerated pie crust dough. Follow all other instructions as directed.
